Happppppyyyyy Halloween.

Ah, Happy Halloween!

Can't really say I'm Halloween's biggest fan. I have the scare tolerance of a five year old. The scariest movie I'll watch on Halloween is Hocus Pocus. Seriously, even if we watch the slightest bit of a scary movie or TV episode I'll have to watch a happy movie in order to sleep. No. Joke. Even episodes of Scandal (as much as I love that show) make me need to watch something happy. Thank goodness for ABC family movies saved on DVR. The hubs isn't a huge Halloween fan either, yeah we'll dress up and go to parties but as far as celebrating goes you won't get much out of us. Our house is decorated for  fall instead of Halloween, we don't partake in scary movies, and we don't do scary woods or haunted train rides. Who wants to pay money to get the crap scared out of them? No way, not I.

Now dressing up is fun and something we have both done also something neither of us have done since college. However, our sweet friends Misha and Annie are having a Halloween party this year so we finally get to dress up again on Saturday night. After much deliberation on my end mainly and my insane need to wear a tutu we've gone through many options.

First up tooth fairy and tooth. This lasted for a good two weeks. Clearly the tutu obsession was here.
Second and what we were going to be until yesterday thank you sweet husband Operation game (doctor and patient)
Now we're going to be Wendy Peffercorn and Squints from one of our favorites, the Sandlot. Have I thought of this before I probably would have prepared a little more but I think we'll be cute nonetheless. Bring on the RED lipstick, white sunglasses, ribbons, baseball hat, glasses, and mit.

2012--The only two who dressed up last year, sporting their Halloween bandanas. Ramses my sister's dog and of course Kendall!

SOLO cup and Ref, it was a last minute decision on my end and the most modest outfit they had. Excuse the inappropriate number. 2010 the last year we dressed up. Holy cow.
I'll have to give these boys credit they thought of this all on their own. SOLO cups for beer pong of course, hello senior year of college.

Pre-knowing husband days, 2009 I think I made a pretty darn cute Alice, especially since I got that costume fo-free. The three Sarah's.

There was a little throwback for ya, can't wait to add pictures from this year! Hopefully this new round of antibiotics I was given yesterday will have me feeling like a new woman by then. This ear/sinus/allergy mess has got to go.

Weekend Recap

Our lovely weekend started out by taking a trip to urgent care on Friday night. Boo. Two shots in the booty, two hours of a Friday night, and three prescriptions later thank you sinus infection. Hubby was beyond irritated and I just felt miserable. I am beginning to feel better physically thank you Lord and medicine! I'm totally my father's daughter when it comes to sinus issues. After finally leaving Urgent Care about 8pm it was Wendy's for dinner followed by Netflix and sleep. Told y'all we were full of excitement!

Woke up feeling like a new woman on Saturday morning, although my booty is still sore from the shots, I can't complain because they did wonders. Saturday was breakfast at our favorite local spot Zacks some errands, lunch with the family, and a chili pumpkin carving/night with the gal pals while the boys watched baseball of course.  Our poor pumpkin, we couldn't decide what to carve since I already went a little Pinterest crazy by already painting three. But what's Halloween without carving a pumpkin? So we went with the standard Jack-O-Lantern, except he's lopsided and looks drunk. Woops.

--Why can't there be a day between Saturday and Sunday? A Saturnday? Weekends around here are just too short.

Sunday involved my favorite things. Church, a nice long walk with hubs and the pup (before 1:00 of course), football, and a nap. Even though our Cowboys lost it was still a good Sunday.

Weekends are too short and go by too fast! I hope y'all had a great one, here's to a great week!

xo,
Sarah

Five On Friday

One of my favorite things to read about what other bloggers are loving each week so I'm going to join up on my first day/Friday in blog land.

1) So what was originally meant for a surprise/treat for the hubby ended up being more for me. Woops, that's how it normally happens right? Sorry hubs.

2) This infinity scarf from Old Navy. The colors are perfect for fall and I may have worn it a few times this weeks. Sorry I'm not sorry.

3) Finally made my first loaf of pumpkin bread of the season and wondering why in the world it took me so long.

4) Aquage uplifting foam. Finally found a product that allows my hair to have some volume instead of just lay flat. The bigger the hair the closer to God right? We are in the south after all.
5) If you know anything about me you know my undying love for ECU and how I bleed purple and gold the majority of the time. However, I can't help but love Carolina basketball too. Growing up so close to Tobacco road and such a great rivalry it's hard not to choose a favorite. I fell in love with those Tar Heels. Tonight is Late Night with Roy and the start of almost basketball season. To say I'm excited is an understatement.

Post number 1.

So, I've decided to try my hand at blogging again, for the third time. I've always enjoyed writing and I'm thinking blogland may end up being the place for me. With the world spinning right on by us I think this will also be a great way for us to document our lives and remember things. Not that we lead extremely boring exciting lives but it is ours and I want to be able to remember all of the day to day little things. Grab you a glass a wine, cup of coffee, or a sweet tea, and stay a while.
