Things have been busy y'all. Real busy. Hence the lack of blogging. Derik got a new job in Winston Salem, we put our house on the market, we began the house hunting process, we began the packing process, we switched doctors, and add some trips to Hickory and school work in between and tada...busy Walters.
Although we've been super busy we can't help but have recognized the Lord's faithfulness over the past few months. When Derik applied for this job we began praying on what to do if he got it. It's about a 45 mile commute (one way) from our current home. We prayed and prayed about what to do. Do we go ahead and put our house on the market? Wait until Caroline got here? Wait until after Christmas? Well Derik got the job so I'm sure glad we started praying ahead of time. After many prayers, tears, and some guidance we decided to go ahead and list our house just to see what would happen. We listed on a Thursday evening, it was under contract by Sunday. Talk about the Lord's faithfulness, answer to prayer, and clearly the direction we were supposed to go in. We then began the house hunt and again the Lord was faithful. We made many a trip to Kernersville, NC in a time span of 3 weeks we saw over 25-30 houses. We finally found the one that felt like home house #18 or so and made an offer. However, they didn't accept and we were at peace and moved on. We continued our search and made another offer that fell thru. We then received a phone call that the house we made our original offer on was willing to restart their conversation with a significant counter offer. We had also just made offer #3 on a different home. Again a lot of praying began. In the end we chose the house that we first fell in love with, the one that felt like home. We're under contract and are continuing to pray that all goes well and will hopefully close at the end of August and get moved in and mostly settled by the time Miss Caroline arrives. Y'all can't tell me the Lord isn't faithful. A lot (our parents) thought we were crazy for making this move all while 6 months pregnant--when the process began--but we had faith and trusted the Lord and knew that He would provide. He did just that He provided. Although we are sad to be leaving our first home after only a year of being here we couldn't be more excited about starting our new chapter in our new home with our sweet baby girl. We hope to be in our new home sweet home by Labor Day weekend about a month before Miss C's due date.
Life has been pretty crazy for us Walters here lately but the best kind of crazy so we can't complain. We have lots of exciting stuff coming up and I will try my hardest to update more frequently than just weekly bumpdates!
